Our situation may be a little different here (we still can't purchase from iTunes in SA or use Paypal) but the music stores are battling. One of the biggest and one of my personal favourites near here, just went through a major revamp. Now, the 'rock' section is less than a third the size it used to be, music CD in general much less. Now, the store is almsot all DVD. TV series, movies, Blu Ray...Pricing is also just stratospheric. The Pearl Jam Ten Deluxe Set is over R2000 retail and the CD/DVD combo of the new Dylan album is R500. (An average CD price is around R150)
You have to be pretty well off to be able to buy all the new music you want by all your favourite artists.I guess the times they are a-changin'.
