I am not asking this question to be flippant, arrogant or an ass and would like to read sincere replies.One of the regular places I go to on the net is the Drudgereport (one has to know what the opposing side is saying). Tonight there is a post about John Kerry getting a haircut by a French stylist and being able to speak French to the stylist. It is done in a ridiculing manner.My question is, what are some examples of when conservatives have fought some very unpopular issues and been held out for ridicule such as so often seems to happen to liberals?For example, here we have someone being ridiculed for being able to speak a foreign language because right now nothing French is popular. In addition, when have conservatives faced anything like being "Dixie Chicked", or socially/politically ruined (McCarthy Era), or at the extreme, attacked and killed (Civil Rights Era). Especially when disputing the military actions of the US. So, what are some examples of where conservatives have stood up for very unpopular issues and received the same sort of ridicule that liberals have had to face, i.e., unpatriotic, a traitor and so on. Again, I am asking this question out of sincerity and not out of an attempt to offend or anger our fellow conservative posters out there. EEE
