We need to get busy electing congresspeople who will work to limit the power of the office of the President.
Oddly we do have SOME in Congress who DO EXACTLY that, they stand up at the podium with their minutes and they speechify and they plead to the “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” apes of Frank Schaffner’s flick & they appear to have spent the last couple of weeks doing it fearlessly…& forlornly. & yet, even they (right up there pissing distance from the fecalled crown), get shelved, quashed, set aside until the next possible opportunity to be felled between the cracks beneath lady liberty’s Bondoed feet. & so IT IS BROKEN my friend. & it IS a transgression. AND all of those who’ve belted out superlatives these past too many years, oh! OH!! & it would surely seem that you are disenfranchised along with your neighbors & me. & Tommy Jefferson et al. are punk-bitches. …The day those who would…figured out that they could with impunity…well, they did. & they followed it up by saying their favorite saying, “It ain’t personal, it’s ONLY business.” & if it is “secret histories” like many a well-read soul has said, then what (*really) do we have to argue over anymore? If we can’t possibly beat them, and our spirits won’t ever possibly let US join them, then, buddy, lets gather us together a band on a set location near Herring Pond and make a good little movie that has a lot of laughs, a love scene or two, a brush with death, a moment of clarity, some good information for the conscience to chew on as a legacy to the kids, … and an instant when two pairs of eyes meet in lucidity …and a whole heck-of-a-lot more laughs … so that people can at least feel good for 90 more minutes … if we could get the muthertrucker in the can and a handler and a release date ... or a good screening @ Cannes. (grin)
:O(O:
Do I sound unusually negative today? Forgive me. I am.
Look left, look right, if there’s nobody there ... know that if they were, and if they are not morons, they are unusually negative today too. You’re not alone in THIS.
Herring405, I, personally, have never felt this empty inside. & I've been prone to emptiness at times. If I didn’t have a bride and sons to wake up to today, I’d just as soon not have woke up. I’ve really seen enough of the world lately. Yea, I could walk the riverside again, drive a few hundred miles in the mountains again, canoe across a flat lake in fall to a private cove only row boats can reach, or throw a Frisbee, a baseball, or a football back & forth in the yard until the mosquitoes start bighting everyday until the worst weather comes, …& brother, I can make love over and over again with this one woman and never grow weary of it & wake up beside her in the warmth of our favorite southern facing window and know that she and I know love, …but SO much has befallen us as a people these past 8 years, too much, ..too much, …......just too much.
(in the voice of Pee-Wee Herman) Have a niiiiice dayyyy, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! (wrench)
