David was Mark's brother and was in Dire Straits for the first several albums. Not sure if there was a falling out (a la the Davies or Fogerty bros.) or what the deal was.As for "Walk of Life"--I know it's one of Dire Straits most throwaway songs, right there with "Twisting By The Pool", but I still love it. Brothers in Arms is still one of my all-time favorite albums, and it was a real treat to hear in the early days of CD.
