"BTW, What is everybody's summer concert plans?"
I think I posted it before, but I remortgaged the house so I could go to a lot of shed shows this summer. So far we're lined up for:
Bruce
Sheryl Crow
Eagles
James Taylor
Tom Petty/Steve Winwood
Page/Krauss
b-52's/Cyndi Lauper/Tegan & Sara/Rosie O'Muzzle
And am waiting for tix to go on sale for
Buddy Guy
John Hiatt
Lucinda Williams
On top of all that I'm skipping R.E.M., John Mayer, Jimmy Buffett (I know, I know, but he puts on fun shows anyway), Santana, Rush, Steely Dan, Mark Knopfler, and ZZ Top. I'm particularly bummed about not going to R.E.M., the Dan, and Knopfler, but the better half put both feet down when she saw the AMEX bill (plus we just got a subscription for a musical theatre series because the kids want to see Wicked, Jersey Boys, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).
One of the best summer schedules since I've been in ATL, and there's still a full series yet to be announced at one of the venues. It will probably be the oldies circuit like Huey Lewis, Styx, and the Beach Boys, but we'll have to see. I'd love to see Elvis come back to town (except he's spending his summer with the Police), and I wouldn't mind seeing Brian Wilson again.
