Given that he has given people some excellent reasons for despising him, I was expecting something pretty spectacular from this e-mail exchange and came away disappointed. I mean, granted, Adams came off as a barely literate asshat, but big surprise.

Also, having done some concert promotion, I can say with some authority that the promoter who books an act without having heard the room and at least working with the sound tech for a few minutes is a fool. It sounds like this fan knew what to expect behaviorally from Adams and just went trolling for a response.

Despise Ryan Adams for his overrated music, at once curiously bloated and paper thin. Pity him for his childlike jealousy of Bryan Adams' songwriting ability. Mock him for his buffoonish public persona. But this...this is just a fan with too much time on his hands and some semi-misdirected anger.
