Icon Edwards and some of the things I find most interesting...

Well, I think the thing is here that Edwards is the candidate who most likely can win and would give us the most hope of electing a guy that would put together a team that would at the very least get us moving in the right direction. That's not to say he's perfect or I love him or anything stupid like that...I just feel, and I think this is how David feels, of the candidates that are there to choose from Edwards is our best hope and we need to start coming together behind someone with a realistic shot at winning...because the truth is we don't have time to fuck around with pet issues or pet peeves or any of that. We need to start fixing problems and maybe some people say "Well, I don't like Edwards take on X!", please put whatever "X" is in perspective I say and think about what he will address and think about who may get elected if you vote for someone else.

Guys like Paul and Kucinich will attract attention from a lot of people who feel sick of the same old shit. Hey, I don't blame anybody for liking them for that. They are not the spit shined, only say the right thing, stick to the message and look good type of candidates. Nothing wrong with liking them but consider the nature of a primary...the big name candidates will get a bunch of votes automatically, the second tier candidates guys like an Edwards or Huckabee then have to scrap for the upset. That's what makes Iowa and New Hampshire important...a large number of voters will not sway from the top tier (Giuliani, Romney, Thompson, Clinton, Obama) unless they think one of the next tier can win. People who vote for a Kucinich or Paul are obviously people who would never vote for a front runner but voting for one of them just takes away a vote for a guy like Edwards or Huckabee who are struggling to climb out from under the media hogs above them.

It's in the primary that your vote can be huge because we can knock out the front runners, the people that really should not be there and at least get somebody who really might do something. The hard cold facts are that guys like Paul and Kucinich will never get their parties nomination. Never! Not just because they won't get the votes but because their own parties will fight for them not to win. So, they would have to run as independents and if they do that all they will do is fuck with the general election. They won't win they would just drain votes from the Republican or Democrat. That's the real world and we would get another dipshit for president and everybody except the hardcore party members would whine that it's all fixed.

So, did you notice that all of the Republican candidates are already running against Hillary. They kept bringing her up all night long...if that does not tip off the Democrats that they really don't want her to be their candidate they really are stupid. They all want to run against her because even an idiot like Tancredo thinks he's got a shot against her. There is so much hate for the Clintons the biggest boost these pathetic Republicans can get is to have her be the Democrat. Their second choice would be Obama and then their third would probably be Kucinich. Those three all provide a lot of hope for a Republican. Other than that they probably would lose to Edwards, Biden, or Richardson...or even Dodd...but let's face facts Edwards is the strongest Democrat...by far. Is he flawed, of course, but look at the flaws these candidates have! Holy crap it's terrible!

So, to me the key factor is this country could not take another 4 years of one of these pathetic Republicans or Hillary Clinton...there is nobody else riding in on a white horse to save us...so the question becomes how much do you hate Edwards? Because if it's not him it will probably be Hillary Clinton or a Republican stooge.

I would tell anybody to think very carefully about how they use their votes this time out because I think this is gonna be a really weird election.
