yeah Baroque (thanks Block) was the word I was looking for. Surrounded by one or two interesting castles here, Berkeley (where Edward the 2nd had a poker shoved up his arse - I believe a hot one too!) Chepstow, and Tintern Abbey, places to check out next time you're over Dan. Baroque just hangs around these places like a ghost.
