In hindsight, after the fact of what was all-in-all a perty warm ceremony in honor of our ladies & gents who make sacrifices for the common good, I’m left astonished, disturbed by the base mob mentality of a crowd of people and the parents of at least one o them. A girl, an otherwise nice enough young lady/athlete (in my opinion, far more misguided than I would have thought), stood up and read with a fervor a speech by somebody named Beth Chapman: Such rubbish, blind animosity, malign and wingnut effrontery wrapped-up in a so-called tribute. & this concluded to a standing ovation! I mean the room went bonkers with pride and duty. & I wasn’t shocked so much as saddened by it. B’s keynote speech came after the girl’s vile interpretation. A speech from the heart, with some truth as well as some hopeful notions ~ not quite ingenuous but potentially accurate. & it went over nicely. I was lifted a bit, & the room was moved to sincere applause, but I walked away today [again] blown to smithereens by the masses of turds filled with pills, as the few pairs of eyes met in passing glances, that felt the same way but also said nothing for sake of decorum, filed out of the auditorium and into the day.
Respects & high regard for one’s military and apt leadership is a glad given; liberty does have its price and it is never difficult to honor good folk. However, I just don’t think the general public gets it, and I completely understand now why, far too often, the VERY MOST wrong people are voted into offices of grave importance.
It sickens me to post it, but here’s the link to the speech: http://www.jeremiahproject.com/trashingamerica/standupamerica.html
There’s a balance that’s missing in a speech of this ilk, & until that balance is achieved, we’re toast………
