I don't hate Prince but I'm not real high on him either. He is very talented, I think it would be tough to argue that. I did see him play live back in the 80's and he is a hell of a guitar player. I don't own any of his records and I thought the film Purple Rain was crap and I could not sit through it.

I'll reserve my "intense dislike" for Van Halen...I'll give you Eddie is a talent on guitar but he bores the shit out of me. All that dull noodling around planted in the inane wretchedness of what Van Halen called a song could drive the fleas off a dog. Blech!

Now as far as greatest film soundtrack ever goes...they seem to be using some interesting criteria...

Two great music films I have to mention though 'Round Midnight and 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould...you gotta see these if you never have...it would help if you like jazz and classical music but they are both beautiful films.
