I think your assessment of Lost Highway's support of this release is totally off the mark and unfair. The reason there are so many "advance" copies in the used bins is because Lost Highway got those discs out to the people who needed to hear them. They cannot control what happens beyond that point. There have been adverts in most of the publications that matter. They do have a street team in place even though we have seen ONE complaint on this board regarding the same. There has been a media blitz behind this release to make people aware but you have to understand how many people are trying for this same attention at any given moment.

You can run something up the flagpole but you can't force folks to salute.

HCTNFU was doing well in the Americana charts before it's release all due to effort on the part of the label.

There is nothing wrong with devising alternate assistance for the promotion of this album but it is unfair to lay any blame in a fickle industry such as this one.

This album is an investment for the label regardless of their ownership, why the hell would they not do everything possible to see it succeed.

I'm not saying that I fully support or even understand the way the major labels do bizzness but I don't think that in this case that you know enough facts to make such a judgement.

It could be that maybe the reptiles have taken over the radio stations and don't want people to find this board which could mean that part of this whole deal is actually your fault.

You also have to remember that "advance" copies are sent to every Tom, Dick and Harry that has ever penned a review in any and every rag on the rack. These folks recieve tons of discs in the mail every week. They are mostly responsible for the plethora of discs in the used bin.

Let's work together on this issue without resorting to bashing those which are on our team, what say you?
