I thought that was a hugely powerful film overall, and I also agree about DiCaprio's performance... I
really thought it was terrific, and I'm glad to hear that he got the accent right. It was recommended to
me by an Irish friend of mine who moved to South Africa as a child to live with relatives after his
parents died. He said "eh, it's flawed, but it feels like Africa." For me, violence against children is
something that I can't bear, it triggers the deepest sadness in me, so that made it kind of tough for me
to watch at times, but I think it's at the very least wonderful filmmaking, and even sometimes
profound, and I'd personally recommend it highly for the not-faint-of-heart.
