I would never think of your loss as "just a dog". I am sorry for your loss. I recently laid my last pet to rest which, was of the feline persuasion but, I am a dog lover as well.

The connection we make with our critters can not be trivalized, it is a close and dear spiritual connection that means so much to both the pet ( family member ) and the owners. Eventually, after the grief has run it's course, you will be left with only the wonderful memories and it will always make you smile. The circle turns once more.

I still catch my cat, out of the corner of my eye, entering the room to come and hop on my lap. It comforts me because I feel like she is still here.
