You know…I watched Gene’s uTube offerings & ultimately I laughed (because it’s so f##ing absurd that this has become our lot in life), but it was a bile in the back of the throat sort of laughter. & the crock-jocks STILL claim reverence to this flagrant-dooface figurehead at large! Is it FUD…for fear of retribution from the highest levels, or contractual obligation, or what? Just plain iniquity void of ethics, a race that will ultimately just piss the whole blessing away on a whim?
I understand the hoi-polloi feeling powerless in the 21st Century~~what muscle does civil unrest and picket lines have anymore?~~but what of those so close to the fold, with the powers of their own office & the makings of some backbone~~surely some backbone, what keeps them from partnering-up & shouldering the stone? I have never seen so much unrest. Surely these are the worst of times.
& yet it seems there’s no plausible humanitarian ascendance from the horror.
People outside this country, good folks…don’t get me wrong…but people who’ve never known the sensation of feeling a kind of deep-rooted awe towards one’s American birthright (only to have a light shone on it’s highbrow deceit with grim clarity) may look at us with mockery or disdain. Many people (again, good folk…who have every right to let loose with parody & pejorative, I suppose) may have taken to finding it funny, this bleak turn-of-events, & it just isn’t so. There is nothing funny about it. It’s a nightmare. & those without humor just simply despise…or, at best, disregard. But it is not my neighbors who wield this dark machinery. WE may be the fools, the marks, the enablers to some extent, but this shitstorm is not our doing. NO, I cannot even take responsibility for being an enabler…because I don’t have the wherewithal, with my two hands, to overcome the oligarchic wave of conquest that’s before us now. I can line up shoulder to shoulder to fight an adversary on my street, but this lust for billions & world domination is too big. Those of you outside the States, consider this: We the people have lost something like a blessing just in the past decade. & we know you have lost too. This is not the people, your neighbors overseas, making the planet foul. This is more like a plague. Perhaps it was no more than naiveté that had us believing in the earnestness our Constitution, …but it was really cool for a time there. The best things about America still lives in us. This same America that slaughtered and took from its indigenous people…also knew the honor of shared kindnesses & generosity, even deep benevolence & self-sacrifice for a long time. All things decline eventually, especially things not liberally maintained:
Things like the U.S.A.
It still eats at me every day that it didn’t have to be this way. & the notion that “God” is okay with the fact that cheaters and liars, thieves and destroyers have usually been the big winners (conquerors) on the grandest scale since the beginning of time…is just too much hogwash to demand my faith. Far be it for me to ask demands of Creation, but now…NOW would be a very good time for some hand of God intervention, if it were to be true. I think we are the hand of creation. & if we are unable to find the strength…then perhaps we are run. & if we are run, what a sin it is to mother/father children into ruin.
[Sigh] Oh, the kids. This is the sustaining hope, though: Procreation.

P.S. I’m not claiming we’ve suffered like others have suffered around the world, only that this lot is not of our choosing. Our democracy may have somehow paved the way~~like some disturbed illusionists chops~~but it’s moving far beyond anything most of us can fathom.
There is unquestionably an “us & them”. & we are on the shidt end of the stick...just like you.
