David,As I was out mowing my lawn I got to thinking that I'd hijacked the thread below and shouldn't have done that. I came back to see Reg's post and thought to myself that he was absolutely right. I actually expected to see something from him calling me out for doing that. I apologize.Rather than add more comments and continue to further veer the other thread off course I decided to add these thoughts here.I'm not at all opposed to birth control. I think Catholics may be but I'm not sure...I'm not Catholic. I'd much rather provide birth control than abortions. I don't understand why you accuse me of using "basic intellectual dishonesty to defend the indefensible." I don't know what you mean by that. When I read your post below and responded in the way that I did it was because it was obvious that you were upset over the loss of 3 more soldiers in Iraq. If it's the loss of life which motivates you then I'd love for you to get behind my cause. That's where I was coming from when I wrote what I did. You mentioned that late term abortions are rare. That's a true statement in relation to how many abortions are performed in all. But for every soldier dying in Iraq there are three late term abortions being performed in our country. Is it still rare when viewed from that perspective? Reg may not think that's a fair comparison to make but I think it's worth considering. We make comparisons all the time in arguments.Certainly Saddam had us to thank for building him up as we did use him. Our world is complex and geopolitics are never black and white. You sometimes have to make deals with some bad people to further a more important cause...you know this. When the relationship goes sour do we remain in it or divorce ourselves from it? When you speak of "massive aerial bombing of a largely civilian population" in Iraq I have to wonder where you're getting your information from. I've always understood that any aerial attacks were very precise and great care is taken to avoid civilian casualties. If you have a source for that I'd be interested in seeing it. Thanks.Kevin g
