But are the additional forces , the reason the sectarian killings were less? And that's only looking at one month.  What about February, March? I truly don't believe the killings will escalate that significantly if US leaves Iraq, and if they do, it's because the US invasion has touched off a civil war there, which is a direct result of the decision to invade Iraq in the first place, and the removal of Sadam Hussein (although I think he was an evil bastard), is what has allowed the Sunni and Shiite to be freed from their restraints against one another, so now they are back to doing what they do naturally...kill each other.  If US troops leave, less US soldiers will be killed, and that is the prime reason we need to get the hell out of there.  US military occupation of Iraq is not going to change the current course of events.  I'd like to see proof that it could be otherwise.  This "war" has been a complete loss and a complete disaster.  Completely without rhyme nor reason as far as I can see.
