As the sports show host Jim Rome says, if you want results you need to call and bang your monkey (referring to radio program directors). I not only regularly request songs from our AAA station, but also call them and thank them each time they do play the songs.

I'm becoming a bit peaved with the alleged level of support that Lost Highway is providing. They talk big about the street teams, and then ignore volunteers for weeks on end. When they finally respond they give this cocky ultimatum: respond in 24 hours or we'll deem you not worthy of volunteering your time and efforts. I got an email from Phil Cordell which I responded to within hours specifically detailing dozens of opportunities to promote the LH artists, including one that is going to expire due to their inability/unwillingness to act this very weekend. Not only is there a large festival here in town this weekend, another LH artist, Drive-by-Truckers, is playing here on Saturday.  

Yet while I find this all extremely frustrating, one should also have a certain amount of patience. Look at David Gray's White Ladder release - it was out for about 18 months before it started building momentum and then exploded.
