Dan,

It's not as though this whole saddam issue just recently developed.  It has been lurking in the background for a very long time.  My opinion has ebbed and flowed about how I feel about our involvement.  Obviously I now feel that the time has come for him to go.

There is much hand wringing to go around for everybody.  I'm bothered by the thought of innocent people dying but I'm more bothered by the thought of doing nothing and the innocent people who will die as a result of that approach.

I'm bothered that the United States helped to put saddam in power but I don't think that means we can't right a wrong.

I'm bothered that Bush 1 didn't finish the job but I'm more disturbed that we did nothing during the Clinton administration to take advantage of a strong coalition to disarm saddam.

I'm bothered by the notion that because there are other dictators oppressing people in a similar way we have no business forcing freedom on Iraq.

I'm bothered by all the Iraqi voices we're not hearing from and what they would say if they only could.  The article from ilikebush I believe speaks for many more than you would like to believe.
