I'm very skeptical.  That's why I try to confirm anything that I intend to pass along as fact or use in an argument

And Drudge??  You're kidding.  That's about 1 step up on the evolutionary ladder from O'Reilly. 

Carbon offsets are investments in alternative energy, such as wind farms, solar fields, and so forth.  Not that hard to explain or justify.  Nor is it hard to justify an enormous power consumption for an enormous house.

But again, the bottom line, whether global warming is man-made or not, whether Gore is self-promoting or not (I happen to believe that he is too), is that we as a culture can do much much better at protecting our planet and working to end our reliance on fossil fuels.

But Drudge would never say that, so I'm sure it's beyond your level of comprehension, since no one is putting it in a right-leaning blog for you to read.
