well Ed’s an old dude weatherbeaten now, …they’re all old dudes…and the brand of rock & roll they made can’t possibly, nor like ever meant to, be sustained.  Although I’ll bet Alex looks healthier still nowadays.  I saw VanHalen 1984 in…Greensboro Coliseum or something like that…and Diamond Dave earned his keep not like some poser would, fcker was fit and gifted with the katanas and no doubt got hetero backstage after the gig…hair and make-up fixation or not.  So to each his/her own yaknow.  If I want to get my beer buzz going, a little Hot for Teacher won’t hurt a bit.  But if I want my 12 year old Johnny Walker to kick in nicely, I’m all for TRIAGE or Wildflowers or Final Cut or Harvest Moon or Tupelo Honey or well…that’s the drift…not that I can place only one drift (not in film or music) …when there are so many roadworthy ol’ gifted whiskey-tinged songwriters to track up; older & newer…  They were good when they were young…and no doubt they still have some music to make, …hel…I’m getting old and still have not taken my music outa the family room…hehe…so I ain’t baggin on ‘em…as much as rooting for them to find whatever it is they’re LOOKING for now.
