the film’s a good twisted headfuq/…son under thumb sorta overcomes scenario.  Man, dads like that really have torn their share of souls in two; I knew one, know one really…but the mind he’s tearing in two is barely recognizable anymore. 

I’ve always enjoyed Jeff Bridges' mannerisms.  Fearless, The Big Lebowski, White Squall, The Door in the Floor, Seabiscuit, K-Pax, Arlington Road, Blown Away, Cutter’s Way, Starman, Tucker…, Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, The Fisher King, Rancho…Last Picture Show…sheez…list goes on and on with this cat, ya know…   

& Winter Kills brings to mind another flick I really like, not on the messy themeless (like seamless with a lisp) list: 

Prizzi’s Honor.

amazondotcom has the 2DVD set for a song.  since I've got about a half a dozen items in my wishlist, including a coupla dbis recommended books, I may just go ahead and get it.
