Of course Rudy was a failure - name another US mayor that had 3,000 of their citizens slaughtered in a single day. He had the attack of 1993 to use as impetus for some real change, but rather than making any solid improvements (like upgrading the FDNY radio equipment which could have saved a number of the 343 firefighters that perished) he opted to establish his terrorist outpost in the middle of the World Trade Center complex - a site already clearly established as a primary terrorist target.

Rudy also closed a bunch of music venues in the city, which angered lots of NYC musicians.

Reagan was easily one of the worst figures in US history. I laughed the day he died, but with a smidgen of remorse knowing his death meant he wouldn't get to wake up in a pool of his own feces any longer.

And I don't put the cheese down to visit NYC. I normally fill a cooler and bring it over for my family on Staten Island.
