The prisoners at Abu Grahib did not have any decisions. Most were being treated as they were as acts of humiliation and low-level torture. It wasn't just a bunch of frat pranks. If another country did that to our POWs and the pictures hit the internet, we'd be throwing a collective holy snit.
If you have been paying attention the only other country catching our guys cuts their heads off and sends the film to AlJazeer for the news that night
That's not to say that I'm a softie and they should have been given 4 star accomodations. In fact, I don't have that much of a problem with much (but not all) that what went on at Abu Grahib. My problem is that the military had such poor control over the situation that enlistees were taking digital pix and polaroids, and then letting those pictures get out into the mainstream.
Have you read about what really goes on in War? What we have is a very over zelous press ready to amplifiy any negative of this war. I know it makes the PC police feel better but it denegrates the morale of the troops and in the end hurts rather than helps the war effort. This of course is obvious to all but the most bleeding of hearts
