Didn't the IRA primarily target police and British army targets - or did they go out of their way to hit civilians? Hezbollah could go after the Israeli military, but instead choose to fire rockets at civilians.
I don't know where the 15,000 feet comes in... most of the fire Israel is putting on Hezbollah targets is from artillery, helicopters and fighters. DB's post suggests that there is carpet bombing going on.
David, what would you suggest that Israel does next time they get shelled?
I think a lot of this current problem could have been prevented if Israel did NOT give back territories they rightly occupied after being attacked. Israel displaced their own citizens as part of that botched agreement, and it's clear that savages like Hezbollah interpreted it as a sign of weakness.
