"Uriah Heep - Gold from the Byron Era"
~ that sounds interesting
In an attic, somewhere, is a box of vinyl (I hope) that I bumbleheadedly left behind ~ a box of books too, both a mystery to be solved. In the box of records is High and Mighty (…don’t know anyone else who liked it a whole lot) & Demons and Wizards, …& I looked at myself in Look at Yourself @ Peaches (record store) but bought PF Wish You Were Here or something like that instead. Didn’t have Salisbury but my neighbor’s big brother did (…he raved about it & he also had good grass.) Also probably in that lost box is The Godz (Godz of Rock Roll Machine…which I tired of quickly), Cheech & Chong Los Cochinos (with it’s skunky album cover pull-out & Basketball Jones!), Aqualung & I think maybe Brain Salad Surgery…but that may have been my stoner neighbor’s stoner brother’s; although all those records are actually a little before my time (m’ older badder influences turned me on to them).
M’ first real foray into rock & roll albums [FWIW] being more on the lines of Aerosmith Rocks, Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here & Animals (endlessly all hours of the day), Kiss Alive II & Destroyer (still got the Brass KISS buckle on m’ guitar case handle), Rush 2112 & A Farewell to Kings, Jethro Tull Songs from the Wood, ELO A New World Record, Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (hahah), Elvis Double Dynamite wuz m’ mom’s but I dug it & anything E, Frampton Comes Alive, AC/DC High Voltage, Queen News of the World, I didn't get punk then but hung-out in the basement of a girl who had Ramones, Iggy Pop, the Dead Boys and [Elvis Costello] on constant rotation, Fleetwood Mac Rumors, pretty sure Revolver was in rotation in our house…but that didn’t belong to me, Moody Blues In Search of the Lost Chord (great album artwork), Black Sabbath Master of Reality, Paranoid & Black Sabbath over & over & over until I wuz good and pizzed, Three Dog Night w/caskets on the cover, Led Zeppelin Presence, Neil Young Decade over & over until I chilled back out, & Meatloaf Bat Out of Hell (awesome piece of work)…off the top of my head….
