She tours a lot with John Prine, who's been her biggest supporter. Merle Haggard likes her a lot too and covered 'No Time to Cry', a very powerful song about her father's death. You've got to understand that Haggard doesn't cover many songs by other people.

Iris is a pure folkie, very honest, very observant. Even though 'Wasteland of the Free' is on her third album, I think her first two have more consistently great songs. I wonder if she thinks so too - it's been a long time since her third album although she's been quite active touring and recording with others. She has a powerful, moving voice, very old-timey. She's pretty funny in concert, always ready with a flash of wit or sarcasm.
