I think it's like asking why people don't go back to college when they are in their 50's. People get tired, lazy etc. When people are young, they are full of energy, willing to try anything, and once they stumble upon something that works, in this field of art & commerce, there is a tendency to repeat what works with modest variation to appear artistic. But real artistry requires thinking differently and that gets harder as one gets worn out.
