I am baffled about artistic people, especially musicians when it comes to music - how come as they grow older, it seems the artistic pool dries up? Take Billy Joel for example. Are there only so many songs in a person? The same with painters and writers. I'm not trying to belittle how hard it is to write a song, paint a painting or write a book (I do know how hard it is to write), but what happens? Is it shallow to think that the longer one lives, then the more things one would have to write, sing or paint about? Any ideas?
