Yeah, you're supposed to put your tongue over the holes you don't want to sound...but that's only if you're doing a Lee Oskar or Toots Thielmann's style clean note play (guys who really do complicated single note lines etc..). I have never done that. I just blow, suck and bend (sounds pornographic, but...that's the way with a blues harp). Making the reeds bend and whine is the sound I'm good at...I've never done the single note thing. Another hint...it's OK to run the tap into the harp, then shake it off, and then you won't believe the sound you can get out of it! Probably not good for it, but if you tamp it out after, it works well.
