These are my personal opinions and so, with all due respect -
I don't think there is A 'liberal' media...that's like saying there's A 'liberal' book. Despite the success of Fox News's repeating waving flag clip (which we historically rallied under when we were killing each other - or others), they do a credible job IMHO. News is like a book or cd - you buy it or you don't nowadays - if news was nothing but the truth and it was all self evident - how could networks differentiate themselves? There can only be so many sides to a story...and sometimes there's only so much information - which leads to speculation. Speculation seems a lot like bias to me...[sound like Yoda sounding like Grover I do]...Big ass but - Newspapers like the NY Times are like any other company - they hire within their region - which in their instance, happens to be mostly liberal - I think that despite the best efforts of the editors and writers of that paper there IS a prevalent bias - the paper needs to sell ads to its market...You read your local paper, right?
Bet it's different from the Times.
Radio
Limbaugh - I've listened to him and I know people - young people - who adore him - I can't understand how he's on radio...why isn't he on XM? Or FOX? Shit, for all I know, he is...I look to the BBC and PBS for 'balanced' commentary - in contrast, he seems like an evangelist...of all the mouthpieces - you'd think it would be NPR - they've got the most reason to suck up to the gummint...
O'Rielly - I've only seen him on The Daily Show - he seemed like an apologist to me...
Stern - everything the aforementioned personalities are not - he makes money off of dwarves, the mentally retarded, people willing to do anything, (some politician might lump them together under 'disadvantaged').
Lump Sum Termed - 'Media'
There's all that money making such a succulent sound ...are you listening/reading/watching? Good thing you're not deaf/dumb/blind - how could anyone make money of off your senses.
Tonight's cynicism is brought to you by the happy people of General Electric/Frankenstein, Inc. - we bring good things to life!
