Thanks for the review, Kathryn. For the unacquainted, "Foggy Highway" is Paul's second bluegrass album, the first one was "Smoke".
Can you provide an estimate of the size of the audience? PK is big down under with only a decent-sized cult following here in the states. Some advantages that we have are easy access to tickets (as he does make it here frequently), great vantage points (as there are usually only a few hundred people at the Boston shows), and the opportunity to chat with him (though he's not the most loquacious musician I've run across).
If you've never seen PK, and want to experience how great he and his band are in concert, he's releasing his first ever American DVD. It contains a complete Boston and Australian show, plus interviews, and music videos, (and I am in the front row of the Boston gig)! Note: during these shows, PK uses his "rock" band, The Boon Companions, and not the bluegrass group, The Stormwater Boys. It can be ordered here: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6838536&style=music&frm=lk_amws
One other thing, I remember asking DB about PK as they were both on A&M Records during the 80's. David had met Paul and his only comment was that Paul seemed "scared". Perhaps being the small fish in the huge pond had something to do with it. The next time PK rolls through Boston I'll ask him about David.
