Close..Orzechowski (Russian and Czech parents). He was born in...(drum roll here)...Cleveland, Ohio in 1947.
My brother used to hear them (the Cars) live, even before the 1st record came out. They would play around the Boston area, and would do the Friday afternoon parties that students at MIT would attend. He was an MIT student. He said they were just dynamite then, very rockin' and heavy. Beyond that 1st record, I thought they were too bland and commercial sounding. Based upon his description, I would have loved to see those early gigs. Loved Orr's voice, couldn't stand Ocasek's warbling.
