Well, inasmuch as the human voice is an instrument, he is certainly a musician, and I surmise he probably has at least jammed around with guitar, piano etc..

But he is also certainly a bit of a buffoon.  Anyone who is so uncomfortable being black, that they have to transform themselves into a pale, narrow-nosed, white woman makes me quite perplexed.  Very scary.

Agree with others, that obviously he is very over-hyped and over-produced.  Much ado about very little, in my opinion.
