Barney Frank once said, and I paraphrase, that Republicans only give a damn about children when they are in utero, once they have been born, dammit, they are on their own! I share your concern about late term abortion but when a woman's life or health are at risk, I say the decision is hers and hers alone. Now, given your obvious concern for children, I am sure you will agree that Bush has been more than a little quiet regarding providing health insurance to the 10,000,000 or so American children who lack it. Given the huge defense build up, the money for vital social programs will undoubtedly diminish. There will be American casualties due to this but they don't make for headlines or good copy in the press. I think real American patriots, rather than those waving flags and driving SUVs with "United We Stand" bumperstickers, should make their voices heard for the disenfranchised among us. Other than Powell, I don't see a lot of sympathetic ears in this administration.
