thanks, davidM. i spent 1 minute trying to get the cali stats and then quit. the unaffiliated % is much higher here... although our entire state has fewer people than fresno county.i'm all for IRV and nonpartisan districting, but i'm not convinced about the open primary. seriously, the "sabotage voter" thing can run an open primary up here. most of the people i know are angry they can't vote for the weakest opposition candidate.
