C'mon Mick. There's a big difference between having a trial for someone who murdered four or five people and executing him if he was found guilty and pulling a civilian from a truck and cutting his head off.
The death penalty is not a federal mandate. It is up to the individual states to decide if they want to offer capital punishment. Among the 50 states, the death penalty is abolished in 13 states and 5 more states have not carried out any recent executions.
I've never been a fan of capital punishment. I'd rather see them live out their lives in a man-made hell. Death is too quick and easy. Make 'em suffer.
