'68 was the year Denny 'the dirt bag' McLean won 31 starts and beat the Cards in the Series. Detroit had another big time pitcher too whose name escapes me. Curt Flood did indeed begin the battle that eventually turned into free agency. He got the short end of the stick and it ended his career too soon. Roger Maris came over fcrom the Yanks after the 61 homer debacle and played right field throught the '68 season, I think. Fine player, better man.

You got there as the Cards moved into twilight. Took my place I suppose because once Johnny Bench came along and I saw that picture of him holding 7 baseballs with one hand, I became a Cinci fan once. Some paws.

Sorry about the football Cardinals. You still follow them in Arizona? Mom and the George Blanda spectacular comebacks of '71(?) turned me into a lifelong Raiders fan. Now though, I don't much care about sports, not since all the strikes and such.

Cards in 6(I'm usually wrong if I make a prediction RS Nation(who started that crap: Red Sox Nation?), I am trying to help break the curse:) I have long thought that a Red Sox Cubbie World Series world mark the end of the world, LOL, had me worried last year, LOL, I mean, neither one of 'em are allowed to win so there'd need to be one big rain out or somethin right, LOL.

enjoy all.
