Icon Re: Well I'll be dogged, the Cards pulled it out too. Should be a great Series. I beg to differ Pat

'64-'68 the Cards were pretty tough. Went to Busch Stadium many times as a kid. But the Reds did command the '70's.
I moved to St. Louis in the Summer of 1968 so I missed that part. I think they played Detroit (with Denny Mcclain) that year in the series

You forgot to mention Steve Carlton, Mike Shannon(before Torre), Dal Maxwell, Julian Javier, Orlando Cepeda, the principled Curt Flood, and of course the classy Roger Maris. I think that pretty well rounds out the starting nine and their two top pitchers.
I remember Dal Maxwell, Julian Javier and Reggie (something in left field). Curt Flood if I remember right was the reason Free Agency began. Roger Maris played for St. Louis? I do remember Stan the Man Musial's statue out front.

I've been following the Football Cardinals for close to 40 years and I continually ask myself when will Bill Bidwell will die :)
