do you really think they'd actually use it?
I sure as hell hope not but with all this "preemption" in the air, not to mention Iran having parades showing off their weapons with banners that say "Israel must be wiped off the map" and "We will crush the United States", it would seem like they have the motivation to do so.
Then of course the world knows we just sold Israel bunker busters (not to be delivered until 2005) which are designed to take out the Iranian facilities...well we just have a big ol' can of worms opened up there.
Iran has already said they too will use preemptive strikes if they feel threatened. We know Israeli government has no issue blowing up whatever they feel like so it would seem that we are not exactly working toward peace in the Middle East.
Now here's the thing, don't you kind of sit there as you hear this stuff and think "What the f*#k?"
Here's Iran, a country with a long history of extensive terrorist ties that openly threatens the United States and Israel, that played a major role in setting up the terrorist drug network that has provided funding for these organizations, that has had a nuclear program we've known about for years and now stands on the brink of possessing a nuclear weapon, and where is our government focused?
Iraq.
Iraq a country whose military was in shambles, who have not produced a chemical or biological weapon since at the latest 1991 (they have a short shelf life by the way), who was decades away from creating a nuclear weapon and had no programs or the capacity to do so, whose government was falling apart (Saddam did not even control large parts of his own country), who had been subject to the strictest UN sanctions and inspections in it's history (a program that world wide was called a success in it's capacity to prevent Saddam from ever becoming a threat), a country whose terrorist ties were limited to Saddam offering money (some $25,000) to the families of suicide bombers that attacked Israel (because he had little else to offer terrorists anyway except money, he had no weapons to speak of), who had last committed a major atrocity against his own people in the late 80's by most accounts, whose neighboring countries did not even fear him and thought he was a joke (Iran, Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia), whose greatest act of aggression was a pathetic attempt to attack the tiny nation of Kuwait (have you ever looked at Kuwait on a map?) which failed miserably and we drove him off without firing a shot practically. Now if our intelligence (???) people had Iraq at the top of our threat board we had a serious problem. There is no way under the sun Iraq could have been anywhere near the top of our threat list. If they were we have the worst intelligence gathering services on the planet...but we know that's not true.
So don't you ever sit back and scratch your head or rub your chin and ponder how the hell we ended up in Iraq? When we knew all about Iran...while we knew North Korea was continuing to build more nuclear weapons...while we knew that Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, Sudan and the list goes on...had more terrorist activity and a healthy relationship with the terrorists that continues to this day.
We had our intelligence people struggling to find a way to link Saddam to the terrorists and Bin Laden when we already had loads of info that showed who the terrorists had been doing business with for years and continue to do business with. It's insane. What's even more insane is that about half of this country does not even question why the hell we were working so hard to create a link to Saddam when we already knew who the terrorists are linked to. My God that's crazy.
Which brings me back to your question because I think that situation is as crazy as the rest of this crap. I think they may use them because they know that Israel is a real threat to bomb them and turn all of Iran into one big dusty parking lot. And again, here we are selling them bombs to get that whole process rolling...something just seems very, very wrong with this whole process.
Or is it just me?
