"Bush was asked by reporters if he agreed with Cheney. The president stared straight ahead and ignored the questions as reporters were escorted out of the room."

Maybe he disagreed with what Cheney said (who wouldn't!?) and simply chose not to answer the question.  Saying nothing sure beats the other two alternatives; 1) say "Yes. I agree." and look like an idiot or 2) say "No. I don't agree." and have the press and the Kerry camp exploit their differences of opinion.

I don't blame him for saying nothing. But I'll bet Cheney got an earfull.
