I read a Ken Wilbur book many years ago when I began doing hospice work: "Grace & Grit". Not the usual kind of systems theory thing that I think he's famous for but a journal of his wife's death from breast cancer. It was a very honest essay and Wilbur depicted his own shortcomings as honestly as anyone could I think. It's still on my recommended list when people ask me what books to read about end of life concerns.
