Dale,
There are so many errors, distortions and ramblings in that posting, that I will not even waste my time to reply or correct any of them but one -
We have not "taken" Iraq. I hope you realize how simple such a claim makes you seem if you believe that. If you do, then tell that to the 800 plus families out there that have lost family members since Iraq was "taken."
As for meeting your kind before - From your posting, it appears I have met your kind before. Back before the first Gulf war started I was in military training. I was in Jump School at the time before the build up began. Our class had about 600+ military personnel in there. Since it was summer there were only 37 regular army soldiers there - the largest group were cadets, you know, ROTC type people - Bush folk. People who were there for the summer and then going home at the end of training to college.
All of those who read the daily papers and listened to wise military NCO's knew what was going to be happening after Iraq invaded Kuwait and the CIA was "claiming" that Iraq was gathering on Saudia Arabia's border for invasion.
Now, can you surmise who the biggest group of drumbeaters of war happened to be? Yes, those fucking cadets. They would go around chanting yes, let's go and kick some Iraqi ass.
It got so bad that the leaders had to make it clear to the cadets to shut their mouths; that they were going home and the 37 of us would be the ones going overseas while they would be downing shots of booze (sound familiar?).
So you remember that when you even think about the US "taking" Iraq in shorter time before Waco blew up or the Florida recount was finished.
You think of these young 17, 18, 19, 20 and kids that can't even drink beer that are dying in Iraq, when you think whoever drafted that crap knows anything.
You think of these families that look out their window and see two miltary personnel walking up to their door with solem looks on their faces.
And when you think of all this, you think of the civilian military planners who ignored the Generals and real military planners who knew what the fuck they were talking about when they were refused the things they needed. Remember? One General was fired for asking for more troops. Or did you forget that? Rumsfeld got on TV and said it wouldn't take 200-300 troops and look where we are at.
So you keep swallowing all this garbage, but don't forget to think about our soliders over their who are dying because of politics as usual.
(And yes, Kerry and Edwards voted against the bill but because there was no strong oversight on where the money went - and guess what? 10 Billion bucks is MISSING.)
