Well, Dale, I know this won't come as any surprise to you but no, I don't agree with this little diatribe. I don't buy the argument that all sides are equal and that all tactics are unscrupulous.

For the past year, smear merchants on the left have spent tens of millions of dollars defaming people with whom they disagree. George Soros and his character assassins, aided by major media, like The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times have spread vicious propaganda. And prominent Democrats, like Howard Dean have even used the slander in their campaigns.

"Smear merchants?" "Character assassins?" Once you wade thru the hyperbole of this statement there's not much factual content left. Can you give us an example of  how George Soros and the NYT have smeared anyone by spreading "vicious propaganda"? How did Howard Dean "slander" someone?

Michael Moore was a hero at the Democratic convention. And Whoopi Goldberg was not denounced by the Democratic Party after her disgraceful performance at the Kerry fund-raiser here in New York City.

No. And I don't remember anyone calling Bush on his calling Adam Clymer "a major league asshole" or Cheney's recommendation on the Senate floor that Pat Leahy go fuck himself. Somehow you'd expect more from the sanctimonious right wing than a bunch of Hollwood elitists wouldn't 'cha?

But now, now the left is outraged over the Swift Boat deal.

It's not just the left Dale. It's all Americans who know a shitty deal when they see one. Even Bush senses the wheels coming off the wagon in the SBV story and that's why he  made his equivocating remarks about "soft money" yesterday. (He much prefers the cold hard cash of Haliburton I'm sure).

I don't see the actions of Moveon.org as equal in the least to what the SBV and their handlers have concocted. The left doesn't have to make shit up about Bush. It's public record for those who care to look it up; for those able to drag their lazy, incurious asses away from FOX News.

And, you are more articulate than Bill O'Reilly.
