Clearly it was an O'Lielly rant...

Dale,

The context of your cut and paste exactly makes my points - for one, at no time does O'Lielly give examples of what people said - he just throws out names, Soros (who he libeled and slandered), Moore and Dowd and claims they have made statements similar to the Swiftboaters.

Next, contrast what any of those people have said about Bush to what these Swift Boat people have said, along with available EVIDENCE.  (I know you all on the right have a lesser standard of evidence than us on the left).

Time magazine is now reporting that only ONE of the 254 Swiftboaters ever served on a boat with Kerry; nine of ten of the people who served with Kerry are behind him.  Documentation from the era backs Kerry's record.  Not only that, Swiftboaters in the ads have been shown to have not even been first hand witnesses, have contradited themselves or simply been caught stating lies.

Now, one thing I agree with O'Lielly about is that Kerry's after war actions are open for debate, HOWEVER, if only done contextually correctly and fairly.

For example, last night on Matthews' show he played the part of Kerry talking about atrocities in a complete manner and when contrasted to how the Swiftboaters have done their ad, the meaning derived from their ad is completely dishonest and disengenous.  The way they cut and past makes it sounds like Kerry is accusing soldiers of cutting ears and heads off, raping and so on.  Kerry was just reciting a compilation of behavior from others who admitted to doing such things.

Oh, but why should I go on...it is pointless.  Over and over and over, I have asked our fellow conservative posters to point us to credible sources and factual information, but none have ever done that.

There is a huge difference between a true journalist and an advocate journalist; so far the ones getting play here are pure advocate journlists (Hannity, O'Lielly et cetera).
