Dale,
For one thing, there is documentation that Bush wasn't where he was when he was supposed to be there. He won't say why he missed his "required" physical and a whole bunch of other stuff. And as others have pointed out, his abscence did meet the technical regulation of being AWOL.
So, what was false that the fringe dems were saying?
Now we find out that there is documentation that those Swiftboats had bullet holes in them.
I guess what I mean is that it appears there is more credible proof for Kerry all around and spurious proof for Bush at that.
But you know what? What bothers me more is this what I call "Revolving Door Political Issue" syndrome. It's like another poster brought up - in 92 and 96 Clinton was hammered for his VietNam background. As I've said, go rent "The War Room" and watch a clip of Mary Matlin pound Clinton on what he did. And now, the Republicans want to scream, "who cares what happened 30 yrs ago"...except of course for this Swiftboat fabrication.
And I think I can honestly say that if Bush had Kerry's experience and Kerry Bush's, the Republicans would be harking these exploits much harder than Kerry has been and hammering Kerry much, much harder.
