Are FLAC or SHN files an option? 

They are both lossless forms of compression, though do take a while to download.  Might require the use of a client to put the files (free to download), then I think there is one additional piece of software to convert the FLAC or SHN to wav (also free, and there are several out there).

   Just a thought.   I've seen this site "share the groove.org" which uses Bit Torrents, and the above process, to download songs, even entire live concerts.  Amazing sound quality.  Entirely legal (so they claim).
