PLEASE answer me this, will you?
Well, I guess what I'd say is that Bush has had 4 years and looking at their track record his administration is a disaster. So, at the very least we need a change of direction in a hurry.
Granted, I understand what you're saying but I would say that what you're looking for (really what we're all looking for) is some vast and sweeping changes to the way government works in general. Being realistic, I don't see us creating that kind of change in a short span of time. I don't think we can afford to waste time though and so the quickest way to at least set us on a different path is to vote out the Bush administration.
I know that both men were Skull & Bones but I really care little about that and it plays no part in my decision here. I'm simply going on track record right now and Bush had his run at it and screwed things up bad. I can't say I know for sure that Kerry will do a great job but at least the odds seem more in our favor with him and a new administration. I just can't weigh bloodlines and college clubs into the equation in any sort of meaningful way.
I look at it as if I'm an employer and I have two candidates to choose from for the position I'm trying to fill. Now, I sit down and go over what they've done and look at what they have submitted to tell me who they are and what kind of people they are. In this case it seems easy...Kerry is the guy I find as light years more qualified to do the job and the guy I'm more willing to trust. Now would it be better if I had more candidates to choose from? Sure...but I only have two...one of them will have the job come November. All the other people I might wish or hope to have looked at for the job are not available. So, it's a simple matter of selecting the guy I see as best right now and giving him 4 years to see what he can do.
So really I'm just being practical. Look, I've never felt so strongly that we need to get rid of an administration as I do now about Bushco. Not with Reagan or Bush 1...I was too young to give serious thought to Nixon when he was president...so for me this Bush and his crew are the most frightening bunch I've ever seen in the White House. They are very destructive and dangerous folks.
I know the two parties in the interests of swaying voters over the years have become more and more alike...they only use a handful of issues to try and separate who they are...and yeah it's a bunch of bullshit...but we've got to pick someone Kent...we've got to give someone the job...Nader won't be getting it...
So it's triage man...the United States is in trouble and we've got a guy that only has made the damage worse and has increased the bleeding...now we can move to get rid of him and at least bandage the wound in hopes of buying more time to save the patient or we can shove the stretcher aside and write this one off as dead...
I'm for trying the bandage and working to heal the major wounds over time...to me Kerry provides that chance...I don't care if he's a relative of Attila the Hun...I mean so what...we need Bush out and then we can discuss what to do next.
It's not that I don't understand what you're saying or think you're wrong...I just want to do something to get the ball rolling here. The easiest and fastest course of action is Bush out Kerry in...you can see what I mean right?
