i'm sure that a lot of people think it's kitschy and cute to have it in their CD collection (along with their Christina Aguilera, William Shatner, Menudo, Brittney, whatever), because he obviously sucks so bad, but i think most people are laughing at him. not with him, because he doesn't overtly appear to see the 'humor' in it; he's sincerely trying, and his (probable consciousness of yet) refusal to [even winkingly] acknowledge the irony or whatever just makes it more delicious for many. his mediocrity is resonating with a lot of people...so what does that say about us? (don't answer, KDB, i already know...) but, looking at it from the half-full glass, it's his sincere effort - and his graceful and unashamed acceptance of its inadaquacy - that are striking a chord.

personally, i find this ephemeral phenomenon rather unfortunate, for, all things considered, life's too short to listen to bad music. still, i'm happy enough for Hung, he received some $ and fame and probably even some libido snacks. curiously odd country we live in, innit?
