The gun admired by Cheney is irrelevant; what's relevant is the full support given by the Bush Administration to a bunch of extremists. These are people bent on pushing the envelope with regard to access to lethal firepower.

We're not talking about firearms being used for reasonable personal protection or deer hunting or target shooting. We're talking about easy access to military-quality weaponry. The NRA are masters at frightening and manipulating an ignorant constituency. The statistics cited below would surely be reduced if we eliminated some of the weapons so zealously guarded by the NRA and their minions in the White House.
