We could all talk till we're blue in the face about the U.S. tax code and tax policy. On one side you have "government programs" and on the other you have "corporate tax breaks" and "subsidies". Everydamnbody is looking for a break or a handout. Although it seems the fairest thing to do, I do not believe we will ever have a flat tax where everyone contributes proportionately to their income. The possibility of there being a negative impact on government revenues is too great. Why in the world won't Congress adjust the AMT for inflation? Because it would cost government some gazillion dollars a year. Personally, I do not have a problem with there being different tax brackets based on levels of income. I'm in the top bracket so I feel the pain. My personal philosophy is that to whom much is given much is expected. The middle ground is to blow the whole tax code up and start over. Kervo
